Pit Dewatering Sumps and Wells

What it is:
Mines require continuous dewatering to control groundwater inflow and rainfall accumulation. Sumps and wells are strategically placed to collect water and slurry from active pits, drifts, or tunnels and pump it away to maintain safe and efficient working conditions.

Challenges:
Mine water often contains abrasive solids, corrosive elements, and fluctuating flow levels. Traditional dewatering pumps suffer from rapid wear, seal failure, or suction loss when solids settle or when wells are deep and remote. Consistent, unattended operation is difficult to maintain with standard equipment.

Solution:
Hevvy/Toyo submersible and vertical cantilever pumps are designed for harsh dewatering environments. With high-chrome or stainless-steel wet ends, agitators to prevent solids settling, and heavy-duty seals, they deliver reliable, low-maintenance performance in deep sumps and wells.
